Throughout the school year all class levels will participate in a "Student Day of Reflection" that will focus on the following themes:
Freshmen
A introduction to St. John Baptist De La Salle his charism and our connectedness to other educational institutions around the world. Then the rest of the day focusing on what constitutes the Central Mystique. That is being a man of faith, a man of service, and a man of scholarship. There will be Team building exercises to build on these themes.
Sophomores
Each sophomore will be required to do a Prison reality Tour at the Allegheny County Jail whose aim is drug and alcohol prevention. Then a formal retreat day spent on the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse using as a catalyst a personal reflection(s) by member(s) of AA. The spirituality of leading a clean life by being a man of faith will also be a part of this day. The Campus Ministry Team will encourage the participation of parents’ with this endeavor where appropriate through the guidance department of the school.
Juniors
This day will focus on community service and how we are called to give back to our church and society. This day will consist of a branch out day focusing on different service and advocacy groups.
SeniorsA look at being a man of faith and how that relates to my vocation in life especially as I move beyond Central Catholic. How I am called to give back to the larger community will also be examined.
